Meet the one-man army at Paul Home Maintenance Services- Paul

It all started with curiosity. I loved pulling things apart when I was young. At some stage I had to learn to put things back together again! Encouraged by my dad I started playing with simple electronic circuits and woodworking tools in the shed. I went on to study maths and science in school and later got myself an engineering degree in electronics. I found myself working from a grey box in a grey office and it was making me dull. I realised I wanted a more hands-on approach in my life and though an unusual set of circumstances started my handyman business.

I trained under many doctors and professors. Some of my best teachers were builders and craftsmen. I have experience in car repairs, automotive panel repairs including spray painting.

A highlight of my eclectic work history includes working for a boat builder in Germany where I had the pleasure and good fortune to be part of rebuilding a 1951 Mahogany sail boat.

My diverse background and experience comes together looking after Queenslanders. With a particular focus on timber work I am just the type of tradie your Queenslander needs. From patching holes to timber doors and exterior weatherboard or window replacements, there is a whole range of services I offer in this domain.

I run a home-based workshop which caters for timber, steel and plastics with the right tools to get the job done. I mainly offer onsite services but having a workshop supports my work efforts and so I can offer custom-made products, giving me an edge over your general carpenter.

I have an FDM 3D printer and a 3D resin printer which extend the range of parts I can make. Such printers come in handy in making parts that are unavailable or need to be custom-made to fit the needs of the customer.

I’m no boilermaker but have basic though competent arc and mig welding skills. Often I can fabricate what is required right in my little shop. Add to that the ability to print, mold and manipulate plastics and the range of fixes I can offer is truly extensive making me a one-stop shop for all my clients. I work closely with local fabricators and suppliers and where a job is best handled by a particular specialist I can often recommend, refer or access those services, making life easier for my customers.
